...long time no talk. Things got kinda hectic for me, finishing up school and then working days that would make Mother Theresa break down and cry. So I'll do a rundown of what's up and now that I'm back on my game, things are goin down, I'll have more updates more frequently. I PROMISE. So if you haven't already deleted me from your friends list for lack of activity, Thanks. I'll make it up to you in new work, news and info.

Good things, BIG THINGS, are coming everyone. Keep the faith.

Anyway so let's talk...

Now that school is done, the projects I've been putting off and planning around little by little since last summer can ACTUALLY start to get worked on. I'll have news on casting and various similar things like that soon.

I've switched web providers. Bluehost used to be a fucking awesome webhost but they changed too much and lowered their own Customer Service and Tech Service standards. Too much downtime last year with no outlook of it getting better. So I switched companies, ported over Perfect Drug's url and switched over everything. Wasn't too bad. I was expecting a ton of problems and had almost none.

I haven't done a photoshoot in MONTHS. I miss it. That has to change as soon as possible.

I have some "physical art" I'm working on. I don't want to go into much detail past that for now. News soon, I think. It's a work in progress and I don't want to show anything until I have something I really feel is worthwhile. I will say this...it's genre specific. And by that I mean a certain crowd will be most predisposed to enjoying this. I hope. We'll see.

OBSCURA is coming up on May 1st. What's OBSCURA you ask? Of Course you did! Obscura is an event being put on by The Fall Studios at Philadelphia's famous Trocadero Theater. It features the artists from Culture De Tragedie doing a book signing. Yes, I'll be there, socializing and signing books. Come get your copy. Batsupsidedown is playing a live show and the Rigor Mortis Revue is doing a show as well. There will be art on the walls, Art for sale, and tons of models. You know you want to go. Tickets are $10 at the door... I'll post up a flyer for it later.

Anyway...gotta get goin for now, but I'll be back with an update hopefully as early as tonight.

I am tired.

My schedule has been insane between my job, my work, and my WORK. Good and vague? You don't say! Ever since I started at the hopsital I'm pretty much in a constant state of satisfied exhaustion. I'm still debating back and forth whether or not that's a good thing. Between being in medicine and my work here, I think I may be pushing the Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde metaphor just a bit too far. Then again, maybe not.

Moving on. Working on Modern Midnight as much as time permits. For all intents and purposes the site is quite serviceable, but I'd like to add a bit more functionality and such. Hard to exactly explain but I'm getting there with it. I need to work on the gallery layout a bit more and such. In general, it's working out.

Looking to shoot a LOT more in 2009 than I did in 2008. Despite 2008 being a light year on shooting, I edited several really good pieces. And I was printed in Culture De Tragedie. I want to do MORE and get FARTHER this year.

Anyway, more work to do. I will be trying to update my journal more often from this point forward.

I have buttons for Eyes. The Coraline movie is going to be amazingly cool, like most anything Gaiman. Anyway, when I saw Neil Gaiman posting in his blog about this feature on the Coraline Website, I had to make one and spread the word.

Go make your own and post it back to me here in a comment if you feel so inclined. I'll save them and put them into some kind of art piece.

Make them HERE

Right. So, Fuck Loudtwitter. It doesn't work like it's supposed to and it was pissing me off. If you got twitter and want to follow me, I'm easy to find and try to keep it goin. Alot of cool people on twitter, alot of which you can find on my followers/following list. Stephen Fry(Yes, THAT Stephen Fry), John Cleese, Wil Wheaton, Greg Grunberg, Apnea, Darenzia, Stoya, Angela Ryan, Zoetica, Joanna Angel, etc. The list just keeps goin, so if you're on twitter(and if not, you should be) find me at: http://www.twitter.com/vhydev

Working on the Website as much as I have had the willpower to do so. I'm battling a head cold again, so it's diminishing my ability to concentrate. We carry on though and keep it going. I want to be done the site in it's entirety by Christmas. I think that's perfectly attainable.

More ideas for shoots than I legitimately have time to work on. It's making me crazy. Need to do medical zombie stuff. You read that correctly: Doctor Zombie, you are needed in the ICU. Someone know of an abandoned or run down hospital somewhere in the Philly region? Anyone got a house or something that LOOKS like a run down or abandoned Hospital? I have ideas. Series name? Flesh Mechanic. Get in touch.

The Catwalk Tragedy 4 images I have, many of which you have all already seen, are up however. Check out that link though to take a look.

Working with some friends from the video game site I frequent to offer up a new game site focused on unvarnished truth and amateur reporting for sheer fun too. Gonna be called Endgamer Magazine so look for more on that soon. Should be simple and look pretty damned good, so if you like video games and want to do reviews or opinion columns about gaming/the game industry, let me know. There's enough cake for everyone.

Speaking of Cake, I picked up the entire Cake discography mostly so I could get the song "Never There." Yes I did.

More info coming soon and more updates more frequently as we get the train moving. Lots to come, kids.

OH! Also, Ever had a question about my work you wanted to ask me? Ever just had random questions for me about anything? Now's a good time to send them, as I assemble my FAQ page for the site. Leave me a comment on here(all will be screened) or send me an email direct at jasonxhyde@gmail.com with the subject "FAQ"

Later Kids.

Site's not done yet. It really REALLY should be by now, too.

It's my fault though. I can admit that much. Well it's partially my friends' faults as well, because they've got me hooked on Left 4 Dead and I've been spending my nights headshotting the undead instead of updating the site and finally adding the galleries. However, I'm GOING to get them done, and it's going to happen this weekend so ModernMidnight can go truly live instead of being a near pointless work in progress.

I have a todo list that isn't going to finish itself and as much as I love saving my teammates from rampaging zombie hordes, I really do need to get some work done before I do. Now that I have finished all 4 Campaigns and really only have little stuff in game to do, I can get it done and play when I feel like it.

So that's on the list and will be done. Secondly, I'm going to start trying to update the journal a bit more often, which now streams directly over to ModernMidnight, so, either way it's seen. Now if only I could find a way to automatically have it update my MySpace and DeviantArt as well, I'd be gold. If wishes were horses....

Now the Rundown..

Culture de Tragedie HAS OFFICIALLY BECOME AVAILABLE. I have proof of this now, and it can be purchased in both soft cover and hard cover editions. To Remind you, it features the work of some of the industry's best, including Lithium Picnic, Scott Church, Kyle Cassidy, S.Jenx, Jeff Cohn, and a LOT of others and yeah...I'm in the book too. Go buy your copy for Christmas for the deviant you love.
Want a copy? Go here:     Hardcover: $65   |   Softcover: $45

Speaking of Culture De Tragedie, Alterati has a preview for it up. You should entirely check that out.

School has less than a month to go so I seriously need to start scheduling shoots again. I NEED MY CREATIVE OUTLET. If you want to schedule with me, let me know as soon as you can as I want to definitely shoot more in the coming year than I did in 2008.  Between new art projects to work on and people that I already know want to work with me, things could get hectic. I'll be announcing a price drop for the rest of 2008 and the first quarter of 2009 in the next few days, so, now through March is a great time to schedule both for you and for your pocketbook.

I'm hoping to have a small line of Modern Midnight "merch" up soon. Mostly I want it for me so I can wear and promote and use skully on clothing, but it will be available to everyone as cheap as I can make it. I also hope to make it so I can have t-shirts for any models I work with. Nothing too exciting I guess, but I figured I should mention it.

Anyway, time to be out of here so...more later and look for the galleries on the site this weekend. They WILL get done.
